Taking too much can make you feel, quote, 'buzzy', as my dr would say. Taking too little and you can't live your life properly. The truth needs to be told about this synthetic hormone replacement which does come with it's own complications. Feeling out of sync, excitability, constipation, sweating, insomnia, dry grotty hands, thiamine deficiency, all kinds of symptoms I have experienced over the 25 years I have been taking this drug. I am grateful to be alive, but sometimes the quality of life is just not there. Fine tuning of the dosage is very important and can take some time. Unfortunatley, Dr's do not have the time or patience to address all the issues related to this drug and many Dr's will just lie to you to get you off their backs. They left me on an incorrect dosage for nearly 15 years, and I had to do the research myself and I was shocked to learn the truth. This is a serious condition and Dr's who think that symtoms are just the figments of patients imaginations should be abandoned because they are just not experienced enough or professional enough to deal with the problem so get a new Dr who is willing and able to treat you properly. I have been on this drug since oct 2012 after a total thyroidectomy. My dosage has changed fron 100 mcg to 112 mcg. My levels have to be checked every 4-6 weeks.
