I am on Metformin because I am insulin resistent. My dr informed me I could continue with diet and excercise or take Mestinon until I lose the weight. With weight loss she would expect my fasting blood sugar to drop in normal range. However, right after I take it I get EXTREMELY tired. It feels like I took a sleeping drug. I feel like I've been knocked out. And it makes me feel sick. Like constant nausea. No diarrehea. I am on 500mg once a day and am supposed to up it to twice I believe. However I have the extended release so its like the symptoms come and go. I go from being exhausted to uppity and back and forth. I really might quit taking it. I started Topamax 20 mg 4 1/2 mos. ago. For me there were not really any side effects since I stopped being a smoker 3 mos before starting this med. Smoking from what I've experienced with other Anti-Ds can make side effects worse and then eventually they go away. But for short I did alright on this dose 20 mg. then the DR. raised it up to 60 mg. I felt ok not 100% better. still had some low-self esteem,little anxiety. Then after 3 mos it made me feel agitated, anxious, and feeling like everybody is the f-ing devil. Dr lowers it to 30 mg because I asked that it be lowered to see how that does. As a result, I still feel all the depression symptoms. Can't a f=-ing anti-depressant ever work!!! I am constantly changing my meds because after several mos they just don't work. I don't know what it is that I need. When I skip a day or 2. I feel GOOD! less stressed,worried and anxious. What the hell gives? Somebody told me in my group therapy that I may be getting too much of norepenephrine.HUH? Can a doctor tell me what and why these meds don't do thier jobs?
