I was started on Lipitor about 12 years ago for high cholesterol. My cholesterol without drugs was about 300 with my good cholesterol around 60. It stopped being effective after a few years so my doc switched me to Angeliq 40 mg. It worked great, my cholesterol came down to 175. Unfortunately this past summer I have started to experience numbness and tingling in my toes and feet and sometimes lower legs. I have no other health conditions that could cause this. I am doctoring myself because I recently moved and don't have a doc yet. I stopped the Angeliq, bumped up my COQ10 dose and the problem is getting better. What is strange is that the numbness on the side of my face that I attributed to nerve damage from TMJ has also gone away. I think I am off statins for good. I have been on 450mg for over a year when the medication stopped working. Up until then it was the only med that worked for my major depression.
