It causes constipation. I guess that is better than the alternative that I have heard and read about. Other than that it makes me very sleepy to the point of not being able to function. I'm a 39 year old female. Yes, you read it right.. female. This drug is, in fact, prescribed to women for certain conditions - in my case, I have interstitial cystitis (a chronic, painful inflammation of the bladder that is NOT caused by bacterial infection), and during severe flare-ups, I tend to retain urine like crazy.
