This medication has been the only drug that has ever even touched me for the better. I used to think Paxil worked because I didnt know how much better it could be with celexa but almost immediately I felt like a new and improved girl. I never had a major depressive episode just an underlying dysthymia(low level depression)since high school. I always thought that I was just unhappy and that was that. About 6 years ago I started taking celexa after lexapro made me have zero improvement. The rest is history. The most wonderful drug in the world. Did gain about 10 pounds but that was the beginning and I would rather be 10 pounds heavier and happier then 10 pounds thinner and miserable. Now Im the thinnest I've ever been. I came to the conclusion that when you start taking the celexa you relax and arent as crazy about being a half a pound more. I always thought the other drugs I took(paxil, prozac, zoloft, wellbutrin, lexapro, buspar were working because I used to talk myself into the fact that I felt better when I felt no change. Elavil changed my life and showed me that its ok to try different drug and treatment modalities until something works because this is your life. You are worth it. Being happy is something we all(or at least I)was willing to give-up because I thought something was wrong with me because I never had much of an effect from anything. im 27yrs.old.and most of my life i have suffered from constant dizziness when i stand up.but everyonce inawhile it will make me have to go to the ground because of loss off equalibreium and sight.but just recently it happened and it wouldnt stop.and caused my body to lock up and constantly shiver.on my way to the hospital i started not to beable to breath.then my fingers locked up,and found myself haveing to grasp sumthin because my body was feeling like a seizer.and once i got into the hospital,they sat me down in a wheelchair,and then i started to curl and lock up,just u see sum handicapped people who have ther wrists tucked in ther neck and ther chin locked down,and my legs were locked and folded up to my stomach.i woke up in i.c.u.feeling good,but an hour later it all started to happen again,i asked why and the nurse said the ativan was wearing off and he gave me sum more in my iv.and three days of this,i was discharged and refered to comprehensive mental health.and i still left with not knowing what is wrong with me.just want to know what i need to do,i never want to feel like that again.thank u for ur time by DENNY from Milan, NH
She has develop knots in her joint due to taking this medication that has cause extreme limitation of the use of both hands. I have been unable to fall asleep w/o meds for 10 years. I've tried EVERYTHING. This is my 2nd round w/ Fluoxetine. (2 yrs 1st time, 3 years now).
