This stuff is poison. No person should be given this medication. I am 42 years old with Celiac sprue and had an acute perforated ulcer, emergency surgery and lived in the hospital for one month in June/July 2008. I was prescribed 'NO Rotten!' (what my caregiver and I call it) by a supposed pain specialist. All it did was made me lethargic, weak, did nothing for my pain, I felt as if brain cells were falling out of my head, decreased my appetite (I'm 5'11" and normally 120 lbs). I stopped eating and drinking, even water. I became emaciated, dehyadrated, drool, ramble incessantly, gave me insomnia; I felt like one giant raw nerve, and it actually increased my pain but I was too lethargic and messed up mentally. Then coming off the stuff was like a meth addict coming off tweak. It has been a good long 7 days detoxing this out of my body; yet my first inclination, when I felt the d.t.'s, was to run to one of the enormous bottles of this 'poison'. Each day I wake up I am less and less 'foggy'. I feel as if I awoke from a 3-4 month nightmare. I have gone off every king of substance (alcohol, cigs, norco, valium, morphine) without any problem; which is why I feel this is such a dangerous drug. I dropped weight, rapidly and nearly died of dehydration and malnutrition because I was on this drug. I lost all desire to eat or even drink water and dropped from 118 lbs down to 96.5 in less than 3 months AND the things it did to my head!! I honestly feel the 'pain specialist' just gave me the 'no-rotten' just to turn me into a shriveled drooling idiot that would 'forget' that I had real pain and have a real medical condition. I learned the hard way. I implore anyone that is on this to get off, with doctors' supervision and it should never be given to any plant, animal or mineral on this planet. I reported the 'pain management' doctor to my insurance company for this reason. He made me take this stuff knowing it would 'silence' the patient. Know what else is silent? Was on 450 mg Wellbutrin and 30 mg adderall. I had tremendous amounts of anxiety and couldn't concentrate. Added 30 mg cymbalta about a month ago; have since dropped wellbutrin to 150 mg; and am hoping to discontinue it all together. Haven't felt this calm in years. I can actually concentrate; Did have problems initially with nausea and headaches; began by pouring out about 1/2 of 30 mg capsule and worked up. Took about 2 weeks to get to 30.
