I have been taking Maxalt for almost 10 years for "anxiety-related Irritable Bowel Syndrome". Over the years, my dosage has increased from 25mg, to 50mg, to 75mg and finally to 100 mg. Now I am at the point where my IBS is out of control even though emotionally I feel great! Now my dr. has taken me off Maxalt and put me on Aventyl, which is making me very tired. I have mixed emotions about taking another drug, but the bottom line was Maxalt eventually stopped helping me with the IBS symptoms. This drug does make me feel lathargic and gittery. I can't think straight. However, after 3 days I am starting to feel better. I have been sick for 3 weeks so this is good. What I have done is drink less coffee during the day and take the medication around 8:30 pm so I can just go to bed soon and avoid all the issues. I have no problem sleeping.
