My husband had vascular surgery to place a stent in his lower aorta and one in the femoral artery in his leg. After the leg surgery, he experience severe calf and foot pain. Doctors first said it was due to revascularization to the leg. After 4 additional hospitalizations he was placed on Prednisone: 600 mg in am, 600mg in afternoon and 900mg at bedtime. He was told that he was taking 2000mg/day for neuropathy and he had also developed plantar fasciitis from being bedwridden for so long. Well he has been on this dosage since Thanksgiving and I really don't think it has help to subside any of his pain. His pain is most severe in the middle of the night mostly in his toes and foot. Sometimes he also experiences pain going up to back of the knee. He also takes Oxycodon at badtime with no help whatsoever. We are exhausted and my husband cannot live with severe pain. I started with 20mg in August 2009. In May 2010 the Doctor doubled my prescripton to 40mg. I have not had any of the side effects that many here have indicated, none what so ever. It is easy to take, one pill at night.
