I started taking Phentermine in mid-2002. I took it with a doctors prescription for almost 1 year. I then became highly addicted to it to the point I was hiding it from my husband. I took it for at least another year and lost a total of 65 pounds. It gave me an incredible amount of energy and I felt great! One morning shorly after taking it my pulse started rising very quickly. It shot way up and I was very shaky and almost passed out. My husband called 911 and I was taken to the hospital. My pulse was over 230. My doctor told me to quit taking Phentermine immediately. I went through severe withdrawal - extreme tiredness and irratability. For the next year I made about 4 trips to the hospital for tachycardia. Was previously on capsule Paxil for years. It stopped working so I weaned myself off of it. In about 6 months I became VERY ill...Constant panic..felt like my adrenaline was constantly going through my body...couldn't sleep..afraid, could not eat, lost 40 pounds in a period of 3 weeks. Went back to Dr. and she put me on Generic Paxil tablets. It took me awhile to increase to 20 mg because I have a "pill phobia", which goes along with my panic/depression symptoms. It took at least 6-8 weeks to start feeling at least to 75% better. I have noticed I feel tired more now and my sex drive is good, but it is difficult to orgasm. I will never go off of this medication again, because I truly feel that if I had not started back on it I would have died...I could not eat at all or sleep.
