At first it was ok. But as I continued using it I began having problems with depression issues with this medication. I started at a low dose but am now up to 1000 mg, twice daily. I feel that it is not mixing well with my protriptoline that the Dr put me on after I started the Lopressor. I have felt worse, and I Try explaining to the Dr, but I'm only the patient. But, sometimes the patient understands more what the body is feeling the Dr. The reason for going on the Lopressor is because I have Paresthesias in my left leg, and have gone through 3 back surgeries, and I am 33 years old and am not able to work, and have been dealing with depression. But, I feel this medication is making it worse (Lopressor), and I feel, that the protriptoline, is the wrong medicine for me also. Also, to mention I am on oxycodone 10/325 2x daily, fentanyl patch 25, topamax, flexeril 10mg 3x daily, water pills and potassium 3x daily because my potassium bottoms out so. But, since I started on the Lopressor I have had problems but the Drs. said it has nothing to do with it. They say it's not from Lopressor that caused my depression. But, I was on all these other meds before I started the Lopressor, except the protriptoline. Which I started 3 months after the Lopressor. My husband has been on this for almost 1 year. He has gain alot of weight and has recently been diagnosed with Diabetic. I would not recomend this drug to anyone. He also has RLS and gets very hungry at night whn he takes it. We are going to find another drug for him. The side effects are not worth it. Worked immediately for neuropathy, also for depression and generalized anxiety disorder. Was previously unable to take SSRI's but being an SSNRI, I can tolerate a low dose. Had headaches and nausea while playing with my dose, but that mostly goes away. Far better than having God-awful nerve pain!
