This should be taken off the market!!! My whole life has been damaged hopefully not beyond repair due to this. READ THE SIDE EFFECTS VERY CAREFULLY!!! This is a dangerous drug!!! I was hospitalized with a full psychotic episode, had severe pain & spasms, was getting up & doing things in my sleep ( the driving & cooking being the worst), and much more. Also note that the original manufacturer only made a 10 mg dose but the generics gave it a different name (Lasix (Brand) is generic for ristorel) & increase the dosage (when I complained 2 my doc, I thought I was getting something different, not an increase of the same). My dad went to Dr for checkup on Tuesday; gave him newly prescribed Lasix (Brand) 5mg on Thursday; then disaster with him on Friday as he could not function, then disoriented totally; lost bladder control; only to end up being hospitalized on Sunday for a bad urinary tract infection!!!! I have an injury to my c-spine...slip disk, tendinitis,severe nerve damage, inflammation in surrounding serves and infection in soft tissues. My doc gave me this in place of flexaril. I was prescribed a different medication which made my anxiety much worse. Within 2 days of taking Lasix (Brand) it worked wonders. My life changed for the better. Although, I am now trying to wean off of Lasix (Brand) due to a weight gain of 35 pounds and zero Libido. My weaning process (day 7) has not been as traumatic as others have reported. Maybe because my dosage is only 10 mg. I have had a few symptoms such as extremely lethargy, dizziness, ringing in my ears, and crying bursts. I am handling it. I hope to be fully rid of Lasix (Brand) for life. Not because of its effectiveness because I felt very good on it but I am on other medications for other reasons (not anxiety) and don't believe in taking a lot of medications. Eventually medications don't work well with each other, then they're black boxed for other reasons. Sometimes it is a mess. I am going through Menopause and truly believe that it is a cause for a lot of my medical problems including anxiety. Since the start of perimenopause and now in full blown menopause I have been diagnosed with several problems medically and now PSS. We will see, I might be back on Lasix (Brand) for life.
