My husband has epilepsy. The doctor gave it to him for his siezures. However, he still has them. He took them for 3 days now. I wished i would have read the reviews before he started taking this drug. I am very concerned about the side effects. After taking Chantix to quit smoking I suffered a severe depression. Torture is the best way to discribe it. I tried Effexor, Lexapro & Prozac. I experienced absolutly no relief from any of these. Then I tried Fluconazole. I thank God for the relief I felt within the first week. I am taking 150 mg once a day & feel that this is a little on the low side as far as dosage. I have no side effects. I would recomend this medication but not in generic form. The generic affected me in a bad way with many side effects. If your depression is brought on by Chantix try Fluconazole. After being on this medication for almost a year I realized that I was still extremely emotional. I decided that I wanted to stop taking the medication because it wasn't helping me completely. Why put a drug into your body if it wasn't going to do you any good? My doctor told me to either just "stop" taking it or she could could put me on a low dose of Prozac for 3 weeks to help relieve the withdrawal symtoms. I chose to take the Prozac. It has been 5 days without the Fluconazole & I feel like I am losing my mind. If I was told before hand that I was going to be constantly dizzy, weak, moody and wanting to vomit all the time I would have never put this drug in my body. When you start taking a new medication your informed of the side effects, but your never warned of what can happen if you try to stop.
