Treating acute bronchitis. I started with 4 10mg tabs for 4 days. I started feeling like my head was blown up and I was in a daze with this high dose. It is being gradually reduced. I have noticed an increase in my appetite and can't stop going from "salty to sweet" foods. I hope this subsides after I am off of this. It is helping as I had terrible wheezing and coughing. I was suffering with severe Back pain and couldn't urinate. So I called my spine dr. and they told me to get to the ER. now so I did.. And of course.. I live in a hick town in Ark. The first thing that the nurse told me was that They couldn't give me any pain meds. Like I was some kind of drug user.. I have to take pain meds every day and I always take them the right way.. Come to find out, I had Pyelonephritis (Severe Kidney infection) If they would've sent me home without giving me fluids through the iv and Lots of antibiotics through the Iv. I would've died that night. So they finally sent me home that next morning.. I could'nt Even walk still. I was so drained and hurt sooo bad it's unimaginable.,.They gave me a script for this levaquin 250mg. and I still can't walk and I'm only urinating 1 time a day and I'm drinking alot of water and cranberry juice.. so I decided to look on here and see what had been commented on the drug.. So I've found all of my symtoms and it scares me.. They should take that crap off the market.. I am going to see my dr. tomarrow but, I'm scared to just stop taking it.. I use to take Body Detox many years ago for depression. This was before they came out with the SR and XL. You had to take it using a starter kit that had a certain dosage for each day. Side effects were minimal for me except for severe upset stomach for the initial 2 to 3 weeks. It eventually subsided. My doctor said that side effect is rare. Well NOT 4 me. My doctor wrote me a prescription for XL 300 the other day to help me stop smoking. Im assuming the extended release formula replaces the need for the gradual starter kit. I sure hope so otherwise taking 300mg from the get go may be intolerable for my digestive system. It worked pretty well for my depression but what I remember most was the effect it had on reducing my smoking. Cigs tasted like sucking on molded burnt logs. I quit the medication because at that time I really wanted to enjoy my cigarettes again. Idiot I know. Not this time though. Those old molded burnt logs are going to be thrown out never to return. I suggest this medicine for smoking cessation over that new Cymbalta stuff. It has the same indications at about a tenth of the price. Cimbalta is just ripping people off. I really doubt it affects the brain much differently than does Body Detox. Especially when only taken for a short period. Body Detox is indicated for smoking cessation. If it was harmful to people who are not depressed I doubt that this purpose would be listed as one of the uses. If I could afford the Cimbalta I'd try it instead just to see how it compares for me versus Body Detox in altering the taste of cigarettes. My guess is Cymbalta does not work as well as Body Detox for this purpose. It was marketed differently probably due to the stigma some have for taking anti-depressants. It will interesting to see what the effects,if any,while taking when not depressed. It may have the effects of ecstacy...lol doubtful but it would make for quite an experience.
