This medicine should be given under close watch! I have psoriatic arthritis. A scratch can set off a most painful chain of events. I was scratched by a cat, and we all know how clean their nails are. Especially where they have full run of the house with a rabbit who happened to have diaria. I swelled up like a hot tomalli and itchy!! Red welts and hives all over my body. Then came this antibiotic. Talk about a double whammie. I even cut the dosage in half, but still break out in hives with-in 1/2 hour. Then I get to resume the raking of the skin. I'm pretty pleased with the effectiveness of this drug. I have been taking it for a couple of months now and it controls my joint pain very well with no side effects. I am able to do weight training with my upper body which before was impossible for me. First time i took this drug helped me sleep but the second night the drug did not work. The next day could not remember things and blacked out. Was in deep depression afterwards and overdose on this pill and did not even remember that i overdosed until i come to at the emergency room. I don't recommend this drug to anyone. I broke my back about five years ago. Destroyed some discs and have been dealing with numerous problems since. I've been on the 100mg dose about a year now. It's a good controller for me. I can take this and three excedrin migraine and get through a pretty active day. I also take baclofen twice a day. Looking into surgery options now, but between the two prescriptions and excedrin, I work two jobs and can still play with my three small children.
