I am 35 and have suffered with migraines 20+ years. They have gotten extermely bad and my doctor suggested trying Synthroid. I have never experienced such bad side effects from any drug. It started with nausea and vomiting. Nausea was constant. I couldn't sleep at night even after trying to switch the time I took Synthroid. Over the counter sleep aids had no effect. I was now missing more work then I did with the migraines which are still there. The diarrhea is horrible and uncontrolable at times. I called my doctor and he said to just stop taking it. I'm four days into being Synthroid free and I have never felt worse in my life. I can't begin to explain the exhaustion I am feeling. I spent the majority of the weekend, my scheduled day off, and had to leave work again today because I am so sick. I was in the bathroom since 5:30 in the morning getting throwing up. I don't know how much of this I can take anymore. I did research side effects before I started the drug. Didn't find a lot of information. I certainly didn't find any information on the withdrawal until I started to read reviews here. I do at least feel better after reading other reviews. Thought I was going crazy and that I was the only one struggling with this one. If you are thinking about taking this drug, don't do it. I have been taking this medicine for about three months at 50mg. It took about 4-6 weeks to really start working but it has definitely been a huge help to me. The past 2-3 weeks my symptoms have started returning, but so is winter, which is probably a big factor in the return of my symptoms. My doctor increased my dose to 100mg and I'm hoping it will make a difference. The only side effect I have noticed is night sweats, which have gotten better with time, but they are not severe and certainly manageable. I have not had any nausea or intestinal issues.
