I was prescribed 100 mg of Prometrium daily about two months ago and I am already noticing a drastic change in the frequency of my migraines. I had been on this drug about 2 years ago and it changed my life. It nearly got rid of all my migraines. I used to suffer 4-6 times a week with debilitating, blinding and crushing pain in my head. I would try to take OTC meds to deal with the pain-NOTHING would work. Fortunately, I was able to go back on Prometrium and I am pleased to report that my migraines occur less frequently and are much less severe. I may get a migraine once or twice a month now. The only downside to this medication is the hairloss, but it's not a big deal when you consider the benefit of not having to suffer from the agonizing pain in your head. I have lost a couple more hundred hairs per day than what is considered typical hair loss for a woman, but it's worth it. The other side effect that's a little bothersome is the tingling in the extremeties and the face. Agsin, these are minor annoyances.
