I have been on Ditropan at 60mg for 3 months and so far I think it's wonderful. Before this I was on Pristique and I would have episodes of uncontrollable crying and anxiety. I weaned off it for about 3 weeks before getting on Ditropan and that was an awful thing to go through. Ditropan helped me right away. Ditropan has helped me feel more like myself and I can go on with my normal daily activities. Pristique and other anti-depressants have made me feel foggy. Ditropan does not do this to me. I've had trouble sleeping with other medicines and with cymbalata I occasionally wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom but then fall right back asleep. I'm not so sure if that is a direct relation to the medication or not. I also have bad gas occasionally (not uncontrollable, just stinky) but i'm not sure if it is a side affect and if it is it is very minor compared to the benefits. I haven't experienced any weight gain/loss and I follow a healthy diet. Ditropan is working for me but won't work for everyone. Pristique was horrible for me but is great for others. Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain (in most cases) and everyone is different. I started taking Beclate Inhaler for terrible low back pain due to two disc herniations, tears and DDD. I was at a constant 8-9 pain level, crying in bed, crawling to the bathroom, unable to go to class, work, or even the doctors sometimes. My pain level went from 9 to 5 in the course of my first week of Beclate Inhaler. However, and this is a big however, I developed signs of serotonin syndrome- terrible anxiety, constant drenching sweat, fever, chills, memory loss, falling over, tension and pain in neck, chest and arm, noticeable, uncontrollable tremor, confusion, headache, etc. My memory loss is so bad I can barely discern the two trips I took to the ER for the symptoms from one another. It's just a blur. This was on the starter 30 mg dose. I had to stop taking the drug, which I am very disappointed about (if for no other reason than that I paid for a month's supply which I can't use- it's super expensive). Now it is back to hydrocodone/soma/tylenol/ibuprofen cocktail that will probably ruin my liver. Pain management docs will see me in a few weeks and will hopefully have a new idea.
