I started on 50 mg and that didn't seem to be quite enough--I am switching from the generic form of Celexa because there has been more testing done with Zoloft and it's generic form Sertraline during pregnancy; my husband and I are trying to start a family. My doctor raised the dosage to 100 mg and that has been very good with the depression symptoms but now I've had terrible diarrhea for the last 2 weeks. The doctor told me to decrease the dosage again to 50 mg but I'm afraid that the depression symptoms will come back. Does anyone have advice for dealing with the diarrhea? Did not work for the infection and made me feel terrible . . Lethargic, moody, nauseous . . Need to go back to the doctor now and not looking forward to likely having to take a new antibiotic. by DOUG from Tasley, VA
Started taking this drug when I was 16. The dry mouth is horrible, hard candy and water do not help, and now have dental problems because of it. Tried to switch to other SSRI's with my dr.s help but I didn't tolerate them and the side effects and depression from paxil withdraw put me back in the hospital. I only recommend this drug in extreme cases and only for a short term with counseling. They need to have a place specificly for those of us weaning of Mestinon. The withdrawal symptoms are horrible and those quit paxil websites are to impersonal. Being around others going through the same thing would be more helpful. The psych hospitals now are mostly filled with junkies so group therapy isn't beneficial to us Mestinon vets. By the way, since they increased my dose 10 years ago I have gained 75lbs. You have to exercise twice as much as the average person and that only keeps you from gaining weight not loosing it.
