Works well to quell depression and uplift mood. Extreme withdrawal problems when attempting to come off of it - severe headaches, dizziness, after 2 weeks of switching to e/o day. Now am trying to taper again taking 5 a week for three weeks, then going to e/o day for a month, then every 3 days for another month. Didn't work at all. Just another medication doctors prescribe when they are only concerned with protecting themselves (there's a more colorful term i can't use here) and not treating the patient. So they prescribe this garbage. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find it was just a sugar pill! It was that ineffective. I've been through all the so-called non-addictive benzo substitutes: SSRIs, Buspar, and Hydroxazine; NONE of them work! The only thing that works on my severe panic disorder are benzos, but doctors insist on playing this game, so I have to go along or i'll be branded a "pill seeker". Sick to death of this! I was diagnosed with PTSD and only used it for treating those symptoms, but stress has robbed me of precious sleep. I take them for helping me to get a sound sleep. My wife tells me that when I didn't take it at night that I was having panic attacks in my sleep. Now she says I sleep much more soundly. I take only 1 .5mg tablet once a night before sleep and I can tell you it works well.
