However, taking it in the evening after dinner (instructed to take with food), I found several initial side effects; nausea, frequent urination, trouble sleeping, diarrhea. A few months ago I stopped a three month course of Cipralex because of side effects. Most troubling is the anecdotes refering to the withdrawal symptoms. It may be that having suffered almost lifelong melencholia, I should prepare myself to stay on one medication or another to improve my mood, but I'm concerned that the side effects and withdrawal, (should I chooose to stop) are not worth it. Currently I am experiencing a serious bout of 'situational' depression, (illness of my son), and this problem is long term and has little chance of resolving.
