I have been on Estrace for about 2 years now. I have missed doses in the past and it is very frightening. I thought I was dying the first time it happened. Then I called my doctor and looked online, and realized this is normal if you miss a dose. So now I feel like a prisoner. I'm scared to go off the medication because I never want to feel that again! I think the effectiveness of the drug has worn off significantly in the past year or so. Since I have been on it for so long, I don't know if it is just life situations or the meds that are causing me so much grief. I have zero energy all day, I am sore when I wake, I have to fight napping and most of the time I give in. I have had bad days more and more often. I feel like this drug no longer is helping me, but I am scared to go off of it and I am also weary of going back to the routine of trying new antidepressants. This medication worked well for the first few days until the side effects kicked in. I was on the 6 day dose pack. By day 4 I was feeling bad and by day 6 I was feeling awful. I finished the dose pack yesterday and I now feel a hundred times worse than before I went on the medication. The side effects I'm experiencing: whole body aches, swelling of the face and gums, confusion, nausea, overly emotional, menstrual problems, exhaustion, dehydration, dizziness, blurred vision, and diarrhea to name a few.
