I was put on this as a secondary drug for my seizures. After being on it for 2 weeks my legs, feet & hands swelled up. All my joints started to ache so bad that I could barely stand up from a chair or hold a glass of water. Everyone told me I looked like I was stoned all the time and I acted like it, too. Hi all. I have been on plaquenil for over 10 years now. This medication has really helped my condition. I do see my eye doctor on a regular basis. I wear glass but they are not necessary. I did have a flare up around November of last year. But it didn't last long. I no longer have aches and pains like I did when I first got sick. As far as I'm concerned, this is a miracle drug. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder. Of 10 or 12 symptome, I had around 8 or 9, depending on the list. I have been on Inderal 1 yr. 2 mo., and I can't remember when I have felt as good as I do now. I realize now that I have been suffering with this for a long time, but personal circumstances in the last 2 years only made everything surface to the fullest. I feel sane and in control of my life for the first time in years. There is no need for anyone to suffer from depression. I have only had good experience with Inderal. I had trouble with fibromyalgia. I was so stiff and pain with movement I could not believe the difference. I was sleepy from the medicine but that was a benefit I had,had lots of trouble sleeping so that was nice to finally sleep through the night. I've been on this medication for about 2 years now, as far as my depression goes, I feel I'm not having mood swings and It's helped calm me, BUT it makes me tired ALL the time, I'm 22, i'm not depressed or manic i'm happy geting married next summer... I'm Tired alll the time!!! I could sleep for 10 hours get up for a couple and feel the need to sleep more, I take it at night because it does make me so tired, but it takes effect and I become exhausted and CAN'T sleep because it makes my legs restless, tingly, an numb... .which keeps me up into early morning... for what its prescribed for sure. it works.... but the side effects that come with it will only drive you crazy...
