I have been given neurontin because the bottom of my feet started feeling like they were on fire!! My MD said it was neuropothy even tho' I am not diabetic, nor have I had any herpes zoster. The medication has subsided the pain to definitely tolerable, but I still know it's there. The only thing I have noticed since starting this medication,which I have not noted as a side effect, is that I now have severe cramping in my feet and toes. They have started to contract overlapping each other and muscle pain very bad. I do not know if this is caused by the neurontin of if this is just something very new that has started happening to me. I've been suffering through chronic pancreatitis and they pain can be very extreme. In 2001, I had brain surgery, a left temporal lobectomy and amygdalohippocampectomy for complex partial seizures that could not be controlled with all of the anti-convulsant drugs used.
