I took Amoxil for a few months in 2008/2009- My first exposure to it my side effects were more intense. The first pill I took made me so dizzy and loopy I had to lie down and make myself take a nap for a bit. The dizziness went away after a few pills. The pill was super effective for me in cutting appetite. I am more of a "grazer" and could nibble here and there rather than eat a meal- and this cut all of that out. . .Side effects for me- the worst was dry mouth- which I agree with another post, I hate drinking water but with this I actually liked water and drank it all the time. Also, the post that mentioned not sleeping much-I was never tired but always waking up super early no matter when I went to bed- minimal sleep. Other than that, headaches sometimes- that could also be from not eating very much. I worked out about 3-4 times a week and lost about 25lbs in about 3 months. Here is a BIG CAVEAT!- if you do not adjust your exercise, diet, lifestyle, etc. you will gain ALL the weight back upon stopping the pill. Any amount you eat- after not eating anything at all will make it harder for you to lose and/or maintain the weight. Expect to work diligently when you stop the pill. I ended up gaining all the weight back and then some. So after about a year, and gaining it all back- I started back today- I rated satisfaction lower because I gained the weight back- but then that's my own fault and I shouldn't expect a cure-all So hopefully this time will be better. . .Good luck! by JEFF from Eustace, TX
Lisinopril-HCTZ 10-12.5mg was poison for me! [exhaustion,aches,hair loss, overheating, shortness of breath on exertion,depression, cough, malaise] I took it for 2 months. I lost 4 pounds in a few days and started craving salty foods. At first I was just more tired and couldn't sleep but 4 hours and started aching, my back begin to hurt after a little activity. I was becoming more exhausted and walking 2 blocks had me out of breath and boiling hot and it took 2 hours to cool down. I could not stand the heat outside [80 degrees] it didn't bother me before. I got a dry cough. I had to sit in a program for 2 days and after just 1 1/2 hours my back was killing me so I had to take 4 ibuprofen to stand it. I came home so exhausted I went to bed. I slept most of the next day and night next day and felt like I had the flu my BP was 133 over 69 pulse 77 my pulse generally was 60 so I took half a pill and felt better BP 153 over 82 pulse 71. I went back to now overpriced Metoprolol Succinate ER with it's side effects of indigestion,reflux,diarrhea,gas, brain fog, cold feet, weight gain increased appetite and being worn out after 1 1/2 to 2 hours exercise for the rest of the day.
