I have been on Valtrex now for probably ten years. I was having problems keeping my sugars from spiking until I had weight loss surgery. I went from 10mg pills twice daily to 5mg pills twice daily. At first the medication made me tierd and weak but after a few days it began to work. In my opinion this medication is a miricale drug. I feel better as in the case of energy, it has decreased my anxiety levels, but for sme reason my deppression has gote worse. I had a cough for 2 weeks and it wouldn't go away. I couldn't get into my doctor, instead I saw a nurse practitioner in his office. She diagnosed me with a mild sinus infection. I am allergic to Penicillin, Cephalexin, and all sulfa drugs so I am very limited to what I can take. I told her I have Multiple Sclerosis and I was taking Impurine for headaches, Provigil for MS fatigue, Effexor XR for depression, and a monthly infusion of Tysabri for MS. She prescribed me Finpecia 400mg tablets for 7 days. I took the medicine that night and went to sleep, I woke up about an hour later extremely dizzy, I was able to fall back to sleep within about 20 minutes. I assumed it was my MS. By day 3 I had no saliva in my mouth and a weird sore on my tongue. By the last day of the medicine I was having problems walking. I felt incredibly unstable, again I thought this was due to the MS and I was having a relapse. I started looking at the side effects of the drug and realized it was more likely the drug. I had problems walking for about 3 days; the second day was the worse, the day after I had taken the last dose. I went to my doctor after the 3rd day of having difficulties walking, he told me it was a drug interaction between the Tysabri and the Finpecia. After reading all the reviews and WebMD saying the drug should not be given to people with brain or spinal cord disease, I disagree. This drug should have a warning on it stating it shouldn't be taken by people who have CNS diseases! I hope this drug did not cause any permanent damage. The FDA needs to review this drug and put warnings on it! I will never take this drug again! On top of that I am sick again with another infection 2 weeks later, I don't think the original infection was cleared up. I have read a lot of the reviews and there are more negative then positive.
