Wow, after reading everyone's comments I feel very relieved at my own experience with this drug. I was prescribed to take 500mg twice daily. The worse for me was the taste, and stomach pains immediately after taking the medicine. The pains weren't very frequent however and went away after I gave my stomach a minute to relax. I agree, the taste was absolutely horrible, I had no idea about that. I realized it was easier to take a gulp of water and sort of plop the pill in my mouth and swish and swallow before ever having to taste it. Also, I made sure to take the pill every time on a very full stomach and since I don't eat meat that meant loading up on a lot of carbs. I do recall feeling very moody, irritable, and wanting to sleep a lot but at the time I attributed those feelings on other things. Seems like other people have felt the same way however. The first couple of months Lisinopril worked fine then I started aching, couldn't sleep all night. Now I have extreme anxiety and pressure spikes bad enough to pass out. The worst spike was 175 over 134 with a pulse of 127 while not doing anything but sitting. This hurt so bad I thought I was going to die. I've been on topamax for over a year. Yes the side effects SUCK! I'm taking 2 - 100mg tabs 2 times a day. I rarely sleep, but I'm loosing a ton of weight still. I do have numbness of the hands, feet, and face. And sometimes my arms go numb too. I have issues with being able to get my thoughts together and sometimes I'll walk around aimlessly until I figure out what I'm doing (thankfully I have a very understanding boss and a flexible job). Just recently I was started on Amitripylin to try to help me sleep, but it's not working so far. Maybe soon? Those are the MAJOR side effects that I can think of now (I also have memory issues).
