I started at 350mg after the intial month of side effects it worked well for Anxiety, but made sleeping difficult and dreams or at least remembering dreams became nonexistent. I lost all ability to have a spontaneous erection and performance on command was extremely difficult. About 1 year ago I successfully attempted to decrease my dose down to 75 mg over several months with little side effects, my sexuall function improved as I decreased the dose. When I tried to advance from 75mg down to 37.5mg I felt a mild form of intermitant Anxiety, started to have/remember nightmarish dreams and desided to regroup at 75mg for several more months. At the begining of November 08 I decided to go from 75mg to 0. After a nite or two I started to have/remember my dreams and still do after about 30 days no nightmares that I can recall and I 've had my first natural spontaneous erection since starting effexor 5 years ago. The down sides: the first 8 to 10 days I was extremely emotional I mean I cried at sad car tunes, movies it was embarrassing but that went away after 10 days: I also had unusual sounds in my head (kinda hard to describe WHAAA Whaaa?)that disapeared after 10 days also. The last few days (27th to 29th I've started to have(unprompted by any events) intermittent,very mild anxiety, alternating with spells of peace and calm and last for several minuntes each and then disapate. I don't know how long withdrawal last, any feed back on that? Some people have mentioned it takes months. I hope not. by DELMER from Ashland, MA

Took up to Oxicodone 40 mg with Percocet for breakthrough pain. I had to wait for total knee replacement as I had contracted Valley Fever - a fungas growing in my lungs. Knee replacement couldn't be done as there was a possibility of the fungas growing on the prosthesis. After the infection was in remission, I had the knee replacement. The Oxicodone gave me good pain relief, so I could somewhat go on with daily activities. I did require a 3 months to ween myself off after my surgury.Overall even though I developed a dependency, I did get good pain control.
