I am getting older near 60 now I want to decrese my dossage but the withdrawal symptoms are horrible, I think the only way I can come off paxil I will need to be hospitalized. Caverta gave me a life and I do not regret being put on this med, each person has to make their own decisions about their mental health.I do suggest that you see a Phyciatrist MD and do notlet your family doctor try to handle your mental problems. This medication was extremely difficult to get off of once I was on it. I slowly got off, but experienced horrible nausea and dizziness in the process and had to go back on the medication due to the side effects. I wish I had never started taking this medication! by JOEY from Oxbow, NY
look, i have to agree that this medicine tastes terrible (as most uncoated tablets do!) but it's not rocket science. have a large meal and thick beverage- take the pill mid-meal. this will help with any nausea and after taste. as far as drinking, you're not supposed to- but if you know you're going to drink, skip the dose or you will throw it up anyway. i knew i was going out for drinks- so i skipped my night time dose- no big deal. be careful if driving at night- it makes you sleepy. by ROBERTO from Westerlo, NY
I have been taking this med. for a month and have developed a dry hacking caugh that keeps me from sleeping. Also, lowered sex drive, esophgus issues and dizzyness. The med. has reduced my bp to 130/83 from 155/95. I'm goinb to the MD on Monday to ask for a change. by IAN from Rock Creek, MN
I've lived with intense chronic pain, stiffness, very limited mobility, overwhelming fatigue, brain fog & depression for years. I was leary of lyrica because of the known side effects but the dr. insisted I would feel noticeable relief in 3 days. It's now 18 days later & I feel NO relief. What I do feel is: extreme drowsiness (fighting just to hold my head up; driving is out of the question), overall weakness, swollen feet & hands, abdominal bloating & constipation, heightened brain fog, forgetfulness, confusion & a creepy unsettled feeling, and weight gain (I cannot afford ANY weight gain, being about 100 lbs. overweight from being physically unable to exercise). All this at only 125 mg. Problem: When I tell a dr. a med doesn't work & doesn't agree with me I get labeled a dfficult patient & they drop me as a patient.
