I was on Prevacid because Insurance would not cover Aciphex. Prevacid worked fine at 30mg for the past 7 years, but this med is junk. I take 40mg everyday like instructed and I still experience heartburn followed with stomach aches and diarreha. I have also noticed in increase in stomach pain that seems to be contstant on both sides as well as gas pressure buildup. I wish my Dr. would just put me back on Prevacid that worked better and I had very few days a month where I didn't feel well compared to feeling sick on almost a regular daily basis. After trying Effexor and Pristiq, my new psychiatrist put me on Arimidex. I loved Effexor; it worked well. After a while, though, these bruises that appeared on my legs wouldn't go away. When I switched to Pristiq, it almost didn't work at all. Eventually, we moved and switched insurance companies at the same time, and the company didn't approve Pristiq. I had withdrawl symptoms for two months. I couldn't stand being in my skin, the littlest thing stressed me out, etc. We finally got a new psychiatrist and he put me on Arimidex, along with a multi-vitamin (for me, One-a-Day Teens) and omega-3 (a nice term for fish oil, he said), and it's been working great. Taking avair for approx 1 1/2 yrs .Past month Am experiencing numbness and light headedness lasting a few seconds approx 12-14 times a day and also while in bed. this is across my forehead and back of skull..feels I may faint. This medication is effective when used for horrible damage done by stomach acid, but shouldn't be used for a long time. I had taken nexium for 6 years and then stopped after I changed my diet. I stopped getting acid reflux, but I started having debilitating fatigue, chronic sinus infections, and depression after having mononucleosis. I was put on antibiotics for the sinus infection and antidepressants for the depression. I was recently diagnosed with a systemic yeast infection (candidiasis), quite possibly brought on by the extented use of nexium and on and off antibiotic usage.
