I was on this for one year and I became adicted it it. If you find yourself addicted to it do not stop cold turkey. Talk to your dr. frsit and let him/her help you get off of it. I stoped cold turkey and I was found in the bathroom in cold sweats, dry heves and shacking so bad that it was hard for my boyfriend at the time to get me to the living room to help me. I had a heart attack in May 2010 This was one of the new drugs I was put on to avoid another heart attack. I have had almost every symptom listed as side affects. This drug is very bad. I started having side effects after the 2nd dose. I only took it 1 every 12 hours. I got no relief for my pain, but I started having severe reactions. My asthma which was under control for 2 years; after starting this med I had 3 asthma attacks and had to start using my nebulizer, inhaler, and Advair to get some help. My kidneys started to shut down and I became constipated. The doctor who prescribed the med, after reporting this to her office, told me I shouldn't be having these problems from this med. She insisted that I give it a few more days to get it in my system. After 3 more doses I was really in trouble: hives, vomiting, weakness, dizziness, and shallow breathing; not to mention 2 more asthma attacks. I then called her office and told them I refuse to use this med anymore. I looked up the med on WebMD and the information provided was enough to convince me that I was going to die if I took anymore of this med. I have been on this medication for almost 18 years now. I take .50 milligrams at bedtime. During the day I take the medication as I see fit. Usually .25 to .50 milligrams if I need it. In emergency times, (death or something else very stressful), I will take 1 milligram at a time. I will say I do depend on the medicine. If I leave home I make sure I have it with me as well as a supply at home. The medicine keeps me on an even level. I was diagnosed with ADHD 2 years ago when I was 28. I started on Adderall, but switched to Lamisil because Adderall was making me hostile, paranoid, and at the end of the day when it wore off I would CRASH. So far I've been on Lamisil for almost a year and I don't have any problems with it thus far.
