To all who read these comments -- PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE, OR STOP IF YOU ARE TAKING IT NOW. Before the hospital gave me this medicine I could walk up stairs, walk from room to room in my home, basically I did all the normal, active things; BUT, after the hospital gave me 5 doses of this medicine, I am walking with a walker, I have to ride the disability carts in stores, and I can't climb stairs without Oxygen! It has been over a year, and I am still disabled. BTW, my knees swole up so bad I had to be rushed to the ER again, but I refused the antibiotic. I have recently seen an Orthopedic who gave me cortisone shots in my knees. It has helped alot! I never knew that the antibiotic was killing me...I thought I was dying! I am 52 yrs. young -- too young to go right now. Exercise is very helpful for tendinitis or anyy muscle pain...pace yourself, but don't give up and don't lie around the house. I've only been taking for a couple wks. but I don't see that it helps really. Think I'm just going back to taking 800 mg. ibuprophen, that seemed to do alittle better. I have crohns granulomatis and dr. didnt want me to continue with ibuprophen. 2 hernieated disc and need knee replacement, this med just didn't help with pain. by HOLLIS from Fishers Island, NY
I started taking Lyreca for nerve pain from back surgery and FM. I can not and will not take this drug! I had a hard time w/it as I felt "loopy" all the time as in drunk. Also very sleepy. I couldnt remember anything. It did help w/the nerve pain and FM, but the disavantages overweighed the advantages. My Dr even lowered the dose and still had problems. A friend of my neice took it while also taking Zoloft and Lortab. She was found making snow angels in the store on the floor! Was told that it did not go well w/antidepressants and pain meds. I am on both and didnt make snow angels but could of ended up in the mattress section sound asleep. Seriously do not continue this drug if any symptoms persist after 3-5 days.
