I have been taking Tinidazole for just over 3 months now and I feel wonderful! I also see a Psycologist for behavior modification. The psycologist taught me how to regognize my early warning signs at the begining of a panic attack. She also taught me a few relaxation exercises to calm down before I lose total control of my anxiety and go into a full panic attack. Tinidazole has made me sleepy however, that is not a bad thing; I was unable to get a full night of rest previously. Now when I wake up during the night, I am able to fall back asleep quickly. My Dr is going to slowly take me off of Tinidazole at the end of six months. I feel so great, I'm kinda afraid to go off the medication. I was started out with a dose of 18mg and had bouts of anger, crying, etc. Called my doc & she first said to discontinue, but then called back & recommended I take 2 pills - 36mg. This did the trick! Tinidazole helps me quite a bit with attention, motivation, and socialization, (I used to avoid interpersonal contact, even with friends,) but it's wearing off too early. I have a miserable "come-down" after only about 5 hours, which makes me want to take more, but of course, that would keep me up all night. After reading comments from others, I think I will speak to my psychiatrist about a short acting, small dose for evening. I highly recommend you don't let anyone other than a very reputable, knowledgeable psychiatrist diagnose you and proscribe this medication. It can work great but you need to be monitored for effectiveness, blood pressure, mood swings, etc. My doc actually checks in with my hubby (with my permission) to see how I'm reacting to the med, since a patient often can't accurately self-report. I was started on lipitor 10 mg last year just before being dignosed with lung cancer. I started having terrible knee pain,swelling and weakness. I thought I had hurt them. I was found to have torn cartlidge and after having them fixed.. I still had pain. Just thought I had to live with it. While on antibotics I hurt all over in my joints, they were swollen and I couldn't even get up off the couch. Called doctor and she said to stop my lipitor right away. three days later I am down to very little pain and I can feel my legs feel stronger. I am so upset that I did not know this was a side effect of this medicine. I had surgery to remove the cancer and that was easier then the problems with my knees and legs and over all tireness. I will not take this again or any others if I can help it.
