I was originally prescribed 60mg a day and suddenly I got an excrusiating headache, so bad that my husband had to take me to the ER. By the time I got to ER, I was in such pain that I started hallucinating and forgetting almost everything. To this day, I can't remember some things from that ER visit. Had temporal biopsy on both sides and was confirmed that I had inflammation of temporal arteries. Was told that I had allergic reaction to too much Tenormin and was decreased to 40 mg a day. So far am tolerating it somewhat. Have to stay on it for 1 1/2 to 2 years. I HATE THIS DAMN MEDICATION. This is the second time I have taken this in a month. It didn't work the first time, my UTI didn't disappear. I was very sick and even missed a Jimmy Buffet concert because I was so sick. I just didn't realize that it was the Zoloft making me sick, cuz it was like day 7 the first time I got sick. This time I was on my second pill when I realized it might be the Zoloft. I started getting a horible headache, nauseated, dry heaves, body aches that felt like the flu, chills, fever, sore calves, sore back, stomach pain and no energy. The bummer is I took this pill about 3 years ago for a UTI and woke up with a distended belly that looked like I was 5-6 months pregnant. Then got flu like aches. Didn't realize what it was then either. I have had on and off body aches while at work for several years after that and saw my doctor to see if it was arthritis. She said my RA factor was positive and sent me to a rheumatologist. They've checked for Lupis, fibromyalgia, sleep apnea to see why my joints (especially hips) hurt all the time and feel so achey (fluish). Every thing is fine.
