i just started my target dose of 100mg 3 days ago and have been on topamax for a month total. last night i got my first migraine in two weeks, which is pretty good considering last month i had a migraine for 27 days out of the entire month. i've had most of the side effects: tingling of the hands, feet and face, difficulty concentrating, increased tiredness, people have trouble understanding me sometimes (the words coming out of my mouth don't match what are in my head), soda tastes disgusting now like there's no syrup in it, my vision is starting to get affected, i get tracers sometimes when things move really fast i see outlines. i've lost 4 pounds overall, which is exciting. but, i'm a little disappointed that i ended up with a migraine last night and today. i was hoping for a miracle drug and that if i did end up with a migraine the pain would at least not be as bad, but it's just as bad. hopefully, it's just because i've only just started the 100mg regimen a few days ago and it needs to get in my system and my migraines are hormonal and i get them pre-menstrual and my period is supposed to start in a couple of days. so i'll try to give it the benefit of the doubt and hope to have a better success story the next time i post a review! p.s. this medicine is ridiculously expensive i paid almost $500 for a 3-month supply! i really hope the one reviewer is right and the generic is coming out in the summer. by LAVERN from Osseo, MI
