This is my second time on effexor xr 75mg. The medicine worked great the first time for my extreme anxiety of everyday life. I lived in a constant state of panic. Yes, I agree the side effects can be terrifying and cause more anxiety. I dealt with an increase heart rate and felt very nervous the first week both times. However, I know this medicine works. The first time on effexor xr for more than a year; I experienced the terrible effects if I missed a dose. But, I also know whats its like not to even want your two precious children come towards you because they made nervous. I went back on the effexor when I also lost my fourteen year old daughter to Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. When you almost lose a child you realize its time to quit being young and stupid and think you can handle things on your own. I would rather deal with some unwanted side effects and unpleasant feelings than to not enjoy my childrens life. Plus, I noticed the way I lived in fear affected my children. And my daughter has shown signs of the same anxiety. I realize getting help means helping to teach my children to enjoy and embrace everyday God gives us. And if I am having a bad effexor day, I except that its not a good day and know tomorrow is a new day. Also, taking a 0.5 mg Xanax helps control the side effects when starting effexor xr. It helps with the nervousness and rapid heart rate. Took it three times a day the first week when starting and reduced the xanax til 2 a day and sometimes those are just half a pill. Ask your dcotor about something to take the edge off when starting a effexor because it takes years or more for our nerves to get bad; so it takes the effexor some time to undo the damage our nerves has caused(there is no shame in it). by BRENTON from Allenton, MO

So far, I haven't felt any real discomfort, other than the usual pain in my mouth area where I need my root canal. The Ibuprofen drug given to me actually worked much better than the Amoxicillin. When using this, it seemed my mouth was getting worse, than better. I'm now taking Motrin for my pain until I go for my root canal. Too many people are complaining about the Amoxicillin. I've been on lamictal for about 2 years now and it's worked pretty well. I still have auras a few times a week, but no seizures. Occasionally I do get blurred vision along with dizziness and clumsiness, but it's fairly tolerable.
