My doctor switched me from sertraline 50 mg to the Luvox starter pack after the sertraline seemed to be losing effectiveness. When I increased from 20 mg to 40 mg, I literally couldn't sleep at night. My doctor told me to go back down to 20 mg. This drug performed fairly well for my depression. I have Major Depressive Disorder as well as Fibromyalgia and CFIDS. I tried nearly every antidepressant on the market in the 80s. Highly recommended for anxiety disorder, especially in social settings. Works fast, has a very mild sedative effect in small dose (compared to Diazepam) and is fast relief from muscle or neurological spasms associated with multiple sclerosis. Only problem is it can be very easy to become dependent and it was hard to find a doctor to help taper off.
