I've been taking this med for about a month. I substituted Celexa and Trazadone with it to treat anxiety and insomnia. Didn't really feel alot different the first two weeks but have had an increase in appitite. Over the last week and a half my anxiety has been through the roof as well as not being able to think clearly. The insomnia is worse with fitful sleep (I've always had vivid dreams, so no different there) but now I physically cannot stop moving my legs at night. I have been taking this drug for more than a year with moderate muscle pain and few side effects. At first it lowerd my cholestrol 50 point with just 10mg a day, then my cholerstol began to climb again. My doctor advised to increase the dose to 20 and I did and tolerated it well for a year, just recently she told me to go to 40mg because the numbers were climbing again. Thats when the real problems started. With the first dose of 40mg I woke from a sound sleep with difficulty breathing and feeling very anxious. After two doses I lowered the dose to 30mg but the diffiulty breathing persits, my urin was dark and my hair was falling out. The least of the sympoms was muscle pain. Before my Dr. put me on this med., I was on Celexa. On the Celexa, my depression got worse, I was not sleeping and started sleepwalking. I tried to stop myself which was a major mistake. After talking to my doctor, she put me on trazodon. After only four days, I couldn't belive how much better I felt. I started feeling like myself again. I have gotton my energy back and my smile. This med. gives me night sweats and very strange dreams, but I will take sweating and dreaming weird stuff over feeling the way I felt before the trazodon. I am feeling happy again. Seven years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare disease in my spinal chord that causes chronic pain, among other symptoms. The first year was hell until I was referred to a pain clinic that prescribed Methadone.
