Ive been on this for 8 months or so and Im really surprised that its only to be used on a short term basis. I dont feel like I rely on it to "make" me sleep or that I -"have to have it..." but it has definately helped me keep my sanity. It allows me to shut my mind down and get the rest I need, that I deserve. Its hard to remember what I had to do before this treatment. Unfortunately with my ex having issues with abusing MY prescriptions, I have to keep a watchful eye out even when he's here to spend time with our children. I wish they would ban this drug. I started taking it when I started working night shift at my job and couldn't get to sleep during the day. I took it for 3 years. The longer I was on it the more I found myself craving it and actually looking forward to bed time just so I could take it. I made MANY mistakes while on this medication that I don't even remember doing. Yes it helped me sleep but it was not worth the price I paid. And on top of that, coming off of this pill was hell. I've been off of it for 3 months now and hardly sleep, feel sick all the time, and I have the worst headaches ever. I have been suffering with FM pain for more than 10 yrs, but was diagnosed 2 yrs ago. I tried several other meds including Cymblata, to which I had a severe allergic reaction nd had to. Celebrex is a gift to me! I could not get out of bed in the mornings without it, and my energy was very low. Now, at least I can get through the day without needing a pre-nap,a nap and a post-nap (I'm not kidding). Typically one nap does it. The Celebrex does not take away all of the pain, about 50-75% on a good day, but that's enough for me to move around and stretch and work off some of the rest. I am careful not to overdo, then I'll be a basketcase the next day. I have other meds for sleeping and for migraines, so I do not depend on Celebrex for that. But I must state that nothing has come close to relieving the burning, tightness, soreness, hit-by-a-truck feeling that Celebrex can. Its the second time I take Celebrex. I was first prescribed when my father past away and I was on it for 2 years. Then I had a baby followed by post partun depression and went on it again. It saved my life twice, it works wonder for me. The generic doesn't work as well as the main brand. It doesn't have any side effects apart from make me sleep all night for up to 9 hrs a day.
