If I could have begun treating my epilepsy on a different medication, I think that would have been preferable to Baclofen. It is effective in controlling the seizures, but the side effects can be and have been catastrophic in the suicidal thoughts, the dark moods, the inability to concentrate, the lack of appetite and the overall wish that I were dead. The symptoms do diminish greatly over time, but are also renewed each time the dosage is increased. I would switch to another medication, but they all sound just as bad, plus, from what I hear, getting off of Baclofen and switching to another medication, is no picnic either, so it is not to be taken lightly. by LUTHER from Parkersburg, IA
I've just started taking this medication 2 days ago. My former doctor in Las Vegase never diagnosed my shoulder and arm pain and said it was just a complicated case of bursitis. He gave me salsatal. I was given this drug for depression and Fibro. I was given 60mg.once a day. I felt great immediately. But I began to gain weight like never before. Then was followed with bloating,anger,hostility ,suicidal thoughts,crying,indigestion and anxiety attacks. I believe this drug to be very dangerous and should have stronger warning on side effects.
