I've tried Prozac 20 years ago and it gave me more anxiety. I don't understand how one seritonin uptake inhibitor can be so different. I used to think crying all the time was normal. I was put on Zoloft and my whole world brightened up. Not sure Depo-Medrol is quite as effective. That being said. Regarding side effects, I haven't to my knowledge had any of the bad ones. I think one should not be afraid of trying it. If it doesn't work. Stop. I couldn't believe how much better I felt on it. I was prescribed this drug to fight off a tonsil infection. It gave me immediate relief in the first 3 days while causing a few sore stomach pain (nausea, indigestion). Had taken for about 8 months and had several times when I woke in the morning and found objects in different places. One time I woke up in the livimg room floor trying to get to my feet. The latest I got up in the morning, and remember talking to my bro-in law at 9:00, then I woke up when I rear ended a pick-up truck about 7/8 miles from my apt. at 9:30. Began taking Atenolol at a 25mg dose and had immediate negative side-effects. Felt foggy with suppressed energy, but that would have been acceptable had I not also experienced severe insomnia (I'm talking no sleep some nights, and 2-3 hours at best). Also got rewarded during these waking hours with intense anxiety which required me to be constantly moving about throughout the night in an attempt to regulate apparent breathing and heart beat issues. Terrible. Was off it cold turkey after two weeks use following my doctors instructions, and maybe on to another drug..but not sure about that after this experience.
