I have taken Dapsone for about 3 years now. I quit taking this drug off and on within the last 3 years. Every time I have taken this drug, I experience absurd side effects including; Grinding my teeth, increased anxiety and extremely bad headaches. Headaches so bad, it feels like my brain is swelling. I have idiopathic progressive polyneuropathy, fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis: for the most part the neurontin has been a God-send. Most of the time, it controls the pain pretty well. The pain in my feet was horrible, I could only describe it as what the princess and the pea must have experienced--the least little thing that I stepped on would send me through the roof. There are days when I'm still in A LOT of pain and have to take additional meds. The down side is that if I forget to take my pills when I'm suppose to, or I've gone out of town and don't have enough and have to go several days without the neurontin, the pain and burning sensations are exacerbated to an unreal level. I can't sleep, I have even been in tears I am hurting so BAD. I know however that in someways the pain is a blessing--with my condition I will eventually not feel anything.
