I started Bimatoprost DS on Friday. (MRSA) I went to the ER on Monday due to an alergic reaction. I started feeling worse every day. From a rash to the worst hot and cold flashes I've ever had. By Monday I thought I was dying! Pulse was 124, swollen glands, trouble breathing, BP at 160/100. I have no idea how this medication could possibly be still prescribed or on the market. For those few people it helped, thats great. If your a first time user, I would call your DR up and request something else. I have never had an alergy in my life until I started taking this med. due to a neck injury I was put on pain meds other than Bimatoprost.They made me high..sick in the morning etc. I switched 15 years ago and have never regreted it.If your looking for pain relief...and not to get high..this is a great drug.Take as your doc tells you and you should do well!!Pain is kept under control for 15 yrs. i am taking this medication for post-op pain. I had 2 surgeries this year for mesh implantation/mesh removal due to severe infection. I am left with debilitating pain. After starting Gabapentin I have 75% of my life back. I have been on 300mg 3x a day for about 3 months, pain is partially coming back. I have been told by my family physician that the dosage needs to be increased. I see a specialist out of state that did my mesh removal surgery and he will probably increase the dosage. If this doesn't help I will be sent to a pain management specialist for possible nerve blocks. The side effects I have experienced are dizziness(which passed after about 3 weeks) It actually gives me the euphoric feeling, which I REALLY appreciate, as i was getting very depressed. I have had asthma for 7 years. It started off as exercise-enduced while playing high school sports and quickly became progressively worse. I was in the ER almost weekly and it was awful. I was switched to Penisole Oil and my attacks did significantly decrease, but the side effects are horrnedous. I put on about 80 pounds very quickly. First it was thirty pounds in two months, then another twenty and another twenty, until it hit 80 pounds. About 80 % of the weight gain is in my stomach and it is accompanied by dark purple stretch marks on my stomach. I eat very litte, less than 1500 calories a day and I exercise regularly. I also have dry mouth all the time (and I do rinse after taking the medicine,)extreme thirst, and have trouble doing activities. I have insomnia, haven't had a good nights sleep without pills in 4 months and have had bronchitis 5 times in the past two years, and I never had it before I took Penisole Oil. While the medicine is easy to use and has decreased the number of asthma attacks, the side affects make it difficult for me to enjoy my life.
