I have been taking MTX for four weeks now, it seems to be doing it's job. I don't know what it is doing to my body yet, do not go back to the doctor for another month. The only real side affect I have had is after two full days after taking it I feel totally and completely exhausted it is so hard to get up out of bed that morning. I've been sick for almost 2 1/2 months now. The first time i was told i had laryngitis & prescribed z pack. 2 weeks later i went back to dr. & was told i had mycoplasma-walking pneumonia. I was prescribed levoquin & i refused to take it due to my co-worker had very bad side effects to the drug & stil remains to after almost a year.(tingling and numbness in legs) So they gave me biaxin instead-they didn't tell me that it had shown resistance in fighting mycoplasma until i showed up 2 weeks later again. Now i'm on avelox which is in the same family as levoquin but i have no other option. The dr said this is the only class of drugs that will get it out of my system (which i also have asthma & its not easy to breathe anyway) The only good news is i have cough syrup that will help me sleep. I have been on it for 4 days now & haven't experienced stomach upset. I do have some leg pain & muscle weakness-breathing also hurts in my chest. But this morning i was VERY dizzy & lightheaded & felt i was going to throw up all at the same time. It finally stopped & on my way to work i realized i wasn't even paying attention to my surroundings-just going throw the motions & following the car in front of me-which i found frightening. i don't know if i recommend this but after reading a lot of posts, i've got 6 more days to go & pray this medicine does what its supposed to do & i get rid of this lung infection.
