I have severe back nerve problems,doc put me on 25mg to start, then approx. 3 months later,increased to 50mg per day. I would take this at night, to help me to sleep. Little did I know that I would gain almost 30 pounds in about 7 weeks. I am a small female, and have always weighed around 105 to 110. The sudden weight gain, has caused me major problems with depression, extreme psychological problems. It is so bad that I would tape newspaper over the bathroom mirrors, and leave the light off, just to take a shower! When I talked w/doctor about the sudden weight gain, he immediately did a blood test for thyroid problems. Everything was fine, but no one seemed concerned what this weight gain has done to me. I did my own research on WebMD, and looked at the side effects of all the medication that I am on, I had over 20 of the symptons that were mentioned! I have an appointment this month to see the doc, and I have written down all of the symptons that I have, and hopefully he will listen to me and the concerns I have. He doesn't seem to like it when I mention information that I have researched pertaining to me. I pray that he will REALLY listen, and adjust my meds.
