Well, I had some awful side affects first day of treatment.. disorientation, dizziness, an extreme "buzzing" sensation (felt like I had about 50k volts going through me for 2 minutes) inability to concentrate, moderate nausea (never caused me to vomit), Oh And my walls started melting, that's right hallucinations. I also experienced some of the lesser side affects but I think you get the idea. Ill take the anxiety attacks over the way I feel on Nolvadex any day. I was proscribed Nolvadex (then the generic) from among the many available because the specialist said it would also help with another problem a lazy esophagus. Now years later I have lost 35 lbs and my BP has gone down. With the knowledge of my physician I dropped Diovan (proscribed at the same time), when I continued to drop weight and my BP was low I dropped amlodipine two months later my BP is still stabilized but my esophagus 1) is again spasmatic but worst my acid reflux is so aggravated I have to sit in a recliner to avoid acid in my mouth, throat and esophagus when I sleep. When I realized the aggravated reflux coincided with stopping the amlodipine I resumed it. I am uncomfortable taking a BP med. when my BP is already stabilized. I am 74, I have maintained my weight loss for a year and I exercise regularly (swimming and pilates). Has anyone else had such an effect from amlodipine? by BRYAN from Raywood, TX
I have been on Nolvadex for about 8 years now. I have what has only recently been categorized as Bipolar Depression. I am bipolar but my main symptoms are depression. I have brief bouts of mania but overall am mostly depressed. This medicine works rather well for the depression; however, my mania/rage is not very well contained. I have made diet/behavoiral/lifestyle changes to compensate for this and my life is now pretty well balanced. It does take some time before you are adjusted and see satisfactory results(6 months-1 year). After so many years on it, I am noticing that I have gotten "ditzy" and forgetful, but that is still better than constant suicide attempts and crying nonstop.
