I took Buspirone 5 years ago for anxiety attacks. I just recently went back on it for similar reasons. The side effects are bad when I take a whole 10mg pill. I break the pills in half and take 5mg 6 times a day to lesson the side effects. It seems to work well doing this way. I don’t think this is a drug that you can feel working right away. It takes 2 to 3 weeks before you really notice a difference. For me, I didn’t feel like it was working until one day I just realized that my stress level went down so it must be working. I think you really need to wait it out for this drug to kick in. However this time around I seem to be having memory problems, forgetfulness, making mistakes I would normally never make. I have taken this medication before and it has been effective. I have however, developed a yeast infection after using this antibiotic for a few days. I am prepared for it. An acute improvement from Zyprexa. Started at 75 and currently at 800 mg spread out daily. Mania and depression are both aided satisfactorily. Side effects that were part of Zyprexa are drastically lessened: increased appetite, hypersomnia, and cognitive hindrance are wonderfully diminished in comparison. Nasal congestion has been a significantly annoying problem, particularly with sleep. Tiredness is also noticeable, but not worse than with Zyprexa. Strangely, effects can be erratic: a dosage that often quickly puts to sleep can have a much more muted effect the night afterwards and has required me to take 50-100% more to fall asleep, without the presence of caffeine, chocolate or other stimulants.
