I took this medication for less than two weeks. I felt origionally felt 'weird', somewhat 'stupid' and dizzy or disorientated. After the second week, I thought most of odd effects had calmed. I drove over 100 miles to visit with life-long freinds (no driving difficulities) but with in 10 minuites of my arrival, my friends began to condem me for having driven drunk. They had known me all my life - knew I've never drank - yet I was not able to convince them that I was not drunk/drinking... In the few years since, I have meet several people that I could tell were on Accutane (and found I was correct). I call it the 'Accutane Stare', sort of a glazed, empty look to their face and eyes. They respond to my offered friendship by asking if I'd like to hear their favorite CD, see a movie, etc... but within minutes they've forgotten they were looking for that CD, or what whatever activity it may have been and polietly say they would like to take a nap or other comment. They tend to invite me to their home, room, (comfort zone), then within minutes are ready to be left alone. I've also watched friends insolate themseves, display extreme depressive behaviors, and become totally disfunctional while remaining on this med for 2 and 3 years. I took this medicine on day 1 and climbed into bed and went to sleep so I wasn't aware that I was having a bad reaction to it. I took it this morning and headed to work with an upset stomach. Within 1 hour I almost passed out, had a headache, jitters and totally out of it. I felt like I got ran over. Went home and slept for 2 hours and went back to work only to find that my face was puffy (I associated it to having been asleep) and that I kept scratching. My hips and knees hurt coming up the stairs so I thought it was just that I slept wrong. Boy was I wrong!!! My problems with the "dry throat" last night weren't that at all!
