why cant the FDA get more involved in medications, so many of these things have so many side effects. but the bad thing about that is these are put on people that cant even try something else untill you go through this mess. I just started taking the Augmentin (Brand) 2 days ago. It is great! After my surgery in May I had Percocet 7.5 and then Norco 7.5 and the Percocet did good but I wanted to sleep all the time and the Norco did not help at all! Norco made me really sick feeling and I got really pale and felt like I was going to pass out so my doctor told me to try this new drug that is stronger than the Norco but shouldn't effect me like that because everone she gave it to has had alot of good things to say about it. So I started taking it that day and about 1 hour later I could feel NO pain! It did give me that drunk feeling for a little while but went away about another hour later. It is the best pain med I have been on since I got hurt 1 and 1/2 years ago. i started taking Augmentin (Brand) 37.5 october 2008. quit taking it december 2008. i went from 214pounds to 154pounds. just by taking this pill 2wice a week. the 1st time i took this pill i it was a lil uppity. but after the 3rd day. i was use 2 it. and its very extremely hard 4 me to lose weight. i started back at the gym. and my doctor would only prescribe it, if i was dieting and excersised. and kept a food diary. ive been able to maintain my weight. and ive been off the Augmentin (Brand) for about 6months now. but I LOVE THIS PILL. While I believe that not all meds. treat everyone equally, I'm sorry for those who have found the side effects of this medication to be too much. I have finally gotten relief from the stabbing nerve pain in my calf and foot from a hip replacement. I also have better range of motion in my neck and shoulder due to an auto injury. The migraines are reduced and the pain in my back and hips from various spinal problems are also manageable. I also use fentanyl for chronic pain, as I didn't like the up and down that came with taking any kind of pain pill. The sleepiness can be a big problem, but try a narcolepsy type medication- they help greatly. I work hard just dealing with side effects and my conditions-fibromyalgia being one. So I understand many of the concerns. But freedom from all that pain is such a relief, I'm happy just to be able to do the little I can do now. It's much better than the nothing I was doing before.
