I was prescribed 75mg. of Augmentin (Brand) SR for depression due to side effects of taking interferon and ribaviran treatment for hep c treatment from June of 09. I was supposed to be on it until Sept. 2010, but due to the high cost and the fact that I took my last treatment at the end of March of this year, I decided to stop taking it. I read a lot of blogs regarding the brain shivers, insomnia, etc. and was pretty apprehensive about going "cold turkey", but decided that it couldn't be any worse than kicking a heroin habit. It has been almost 2 weeks now and the first week I found myself being very emotional, crying for no reason, brain shivers, insomnia, etc. It was uncomfortable but not as bad as others have experienced. I'm doing pretty well this week, still have the brain shivers, but they're not as frequent or as severe. I would recommend reading the experiences of others BEFORE taking Augmentin (Brand) XR. Ive been taking this for soooo long, about ten years. wanted to wing myself off but, instead my doc increased my dose to 150mg. I am 41 and was just put on Augmentin (Brand). Shortly after starting medication I had neck and shoulder pain, eventually this spread to my back and ankles. I figured hey, your 41 this is normal. I made the mistake and stopped taking it about two weeks ago. I feel like I want to jump out of my own skin. Short tempered, eating like crazy, unable to retain thoughts.
