BAD side effects starting and going off!!!!While on the medication, I had some major side effects upon starting it--constipation lasting 1 week, dry mouth, brain "zaps", irritability, dizziness, feeling like I have an irregular heartbeat. Once I was finally adjusted to it (about 1 month), I felt pretty good overall. However, it is extremely expensive and my insurance company requires prior approval (nuissance and timely with my doctor)--so I have decided to go off it after taking it for 15 months. I stopped taking it approx. 1 week ago and am having awful withdrawl symptoms--dizziness, foggy-feeling, brain zaps, vertigo, heart palpitations, and an overall lousy feeling throughout my body which is worse in the afternoon and early evening. I am also extremely prone to major mood swings--I was ready to punch something or someone this morning. Not a good feeling...I don't want to feel like this anymore. I have suffered from severe panic disorder for most of my adult life also associated with agoraphobia. I also have difficulty sleeping. I take 1mg in the AM and 2mg at bedtime. I still get breakthrough panic attacks and floating anxiety but not as frequent. When i do I have extra Duloxetine to take for these breakthroughs. i have noticed over the past few months that I am not sleeping more than 4 hours a night so my physician added 50 mg of trazadone to take with my xanax at night. I still wake up several times and noticed as of late that I get severe cramping in my legs (charlie horses} which may be due to the Trazadone. I will discuss this with my doctor at my next visit.
